About Us

Welcome to Jansal Saddlebreds, owned and operated by the D'Amato family of Mocksville, North Carolina.

At Jansal, we are dedicated to the loving care, breeding, raising, and training of the American Saddlebred horse.

Located on 55 acres of pristine North Carolina countryside, Jansal is a full-time state-of-the-art training facility with spacious stalls, indoor and outdoor arenas, large pastures, turn-out paddocks and extensive safe and scenic trails. In addition to first class breeding, sales, and training programs, Jansal offers top-notch private and group lessons taught by our acclaimed instructors for riders and drivers of all experience levels.

Kathy D'Amato Melious manages Jansal Saddlebreds. Kathy is a full time NC Certified teacher and also is our barn manager. A lifetime of owning and showing horses combined with thirteen years of certified teaching and coaching middle and high school young adults gives Kathy quite the resume for our programs.

Janelle D'Amato is our professional trainer. She puts the "Jan" in Jansal. She has 9 years of award winning showing and amatuer/owner trainer experience behind her. She has now joined the professional ranks and teaches in our lesson program as well. Janelle spent her junior years under the tutelage of Smith Lilly.
